Was this a prank?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPlease, I beg, no.\u201d I cried out to him. He walked out the door. I dried my eyes and looked at the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several years past. I grew my beard out. Maybe he won\u2019t recognise me now.
